INFORMATION BELOW REGARDING THE HESI EXAM!! Please see the following message sent on behalf of Amy Palma:
First, I am looking for Level 4 students from all 3 sites who are interested in being part of the selection panel for the BScN Program Preceptor Awards, presented in May at each site’s Pinning Ceremony. Each year, we organize a panel of faculty, RN’s and Level 4 students to read and rate the preceptor award nomination letters and to rank them. I am looking for 2-3 students from each program site to assist this year. Interested students can email me at palmaaj@mcmaster.ca by March 30. Letters and more details would be distributed April 9, and ratings would need to be returned April 23. To be eligible, Level 4 students must not have submitted a nomination letter for their own preceptor.
Second, we are offering the HESI practice exam to N4K10 students at McMaster and Mohawk on April 10 and April 13 (Conestoga site is also organizing their own exam). This is an excellent resource to help prepare for the NCLEX, and has to be taken in a computer lab and faculty invigilated (students cannot purchase the HESI to take individually on their own). The HESI is a 160 question exam that provides practice and preparation for the NCLEX. Once the exam is complete, you will also be provided with detailed reports on your performance, including strengths, areas to study further, and study materials to help you prepare for the exam. We are offering 2 exam dates: April 10, 2018 or April 13, 2018, both from 1-5 pm in BSB 244.
Cost of the exam is $59 US plus tax. Students must register for and pay online through Evolve. Students must also create an Evolve account to register and write the exam (if you haven’t already set up an account to access resources that accompany your textbooks). Details on creating an Evolve account, registering and paying for the HESI exam are attached (please ensure you select the payment link for the correct HESI date).
