Summary of Available Positions
Elections will be held Wednesday, October 15th at 7PM in MDCL (exact room TBD).
If you are interested in running for a position, please send an email to gig.mcmaster@gmail.com by Sunday, October 12th, so we can add you to the list of candidates; pending interest in a given position, we may ask that you prepare a short 1-2 minute speech expressing your background & interest for that position.
Co-Chairs:
2 positions, 1 mandatory MD program student
Oversee group organization and communication. Field ideas to the group, plan and lead meetings, and recruit and organize group members in planning events. If a member of the MD program, act as a liaison between the group and the MD program.
Faculty Reps: PT, OT, PA & Nursing
4 positions, 1 from each represented program
Liase between your professional programs and the GIG. Assist in recruiting peers from your programs to GIG events and committees. Assist generating event ideas, as well as organizing and leading group events.
Treasurer
1 position, from any program
Apply for funding and grants as required. Track the group budget throughout the year. Assist generating event ideas, as well as organizing and leading group events.
General Member
Non-elected; open to unlimited students from all programs
Help generate event ideas, organize, lead and participate in group events.
