FINANCE 2018 – 2019

Why did you decide to join MUNSS?

I decided to join MUNSS because I want to be part of something that serves others around them. As it is my last year of nursing school, I want give back to the nursing student body by enhancing their university experience through MUNSS. I hope that by doing my job as Finance Chairperson to the best of my ability, MUNSS will be successful in their endeavours of serving the nursing students through many means (running great educational/social events and speaking/advocating on behalf of the entire nursing student population).

What are some goals this year regarding your MUNSS role (i.e. plans, events, changes you want to make, etc.)?

For this year, my main goal is to financially support the members of the executive so their great plans for the student body may come to fruition. To be successful, I need to fulfill some of my responsibilities such as to have our funding released on time, continue to use methods of reimbursing members that were initiated by a previous finance chairperson, and monitor our society’s transactions to ensure all the money is accounted for. One thing I would like to change for the better is how members cash in their cheques (mainly how quickly they cash it in once they received the cheque). This is to avoid things such as stale cheques in the future.

What advice do you have for your fellow nursing students?

The best advice I have for my fellow nursing students is that balance is important. While schoolwork and studying are crucial as a nursing student, finding time to do things that you enjoy is also important. Give some time away from school for yourself from time to time and enjoy life.

A fun fact about yourself, or the craziest thing you’ve ever done!

Fun Fact: I have the same birthday as Eminem
