Join DIHLC (DeGroote Interprofessional Health Leadership Conference) on Sat October 4th, 2014 to engage in powerful discussion on various strategies used to improve the Patient Experience from the perspectives of providers and receivers of care.
Our goal as students of the DeGroote Schools of Medicine and Business is to promote a culture of interprofessional collaboration between various health care professions. The focus of the 6th annual conference will be on the Patient Experience.
As more pressure is being put on clinicians and the broader healthcare system to delivery high quality care at a lower cost, the trend is to move away from the traditional “provider-centric” methods of decision-making towards engaging with patients in a mutual partnership for their care – both at the individual and system-wide levels.
I highly recommend this conference for students who are thinking of furthering their education (e.g. masters in nursing, MBA, MD, etc) as you will engage with students and professionals from various backgrounds!
