Level IV Basic Stream – Conestoga Site

INDIGENOUS STUDENTS CHAIRPERSON 2020 – 2021

______________________________________

Why did you decide to join MUNSS?

Aanii! I’m Victoria and I decided to join MUNSS this year because I wanted to get involved with this amazing student committee, while also having a platform to share knowledge and information about Indigenous culture and health issues with the next generation of RNs.

What are some goals this year regarding your MUNSS role?

Some goals I have for this year are to ensure all students feel they are being represented. I want to enhance learning opportunities for my fellow peers about marginalized populations and the issues they face in the healthcare system. I want to enable learning through interactive and fun ways so all people can be engaged.

What advice do you have for your fellow nursing students?

One piece of advice I have for my fellow nursing students is to take every opportunity you are given to go outside your comfort zone. Joining MUNSS is way far out of my comfort zone but has already pushed me towards becoming a better student nurse.

How do you take your coffee?

I take my coffee by the litre, and with the smallest splash of oat milk.
